- Wrap Around Light - The deflector dish reflects the light back onto the interior surface on the beauty dish, helping to cover the entire interior evenly with light, to create a light that wraps around the subject.
- Contrasting Light for Feature Accentuation - Due to the shape of the Beauty Dish and the fact that the light bounces around the interior, it helps create a light with more contrast compared to using a Softbox.
- Round Catchlights - The round shape of the beauty dish also helps to create pleasing catchlights in the eyes of the subject that replicates a natural light source such as the sun, making it ideal for beauty and portrait photography.
